Cheerful Church

It's always nice to attend another ward on Sunday to add a little variety to your Sabbath. Yesterday, Tadd and I drove up to Murray with his mom to attend our neice's Primary Program. We had the pleasure of sitting with my brother in law, Kris, his wife, Kecia, and her family. Kris and Kecia's oldest daughter, Kyra, is a CTR 5, and the only one of their three girls up in the program. It was quite enjoyable to half-listen to the Primary Program (except for when Kyra was up), and play with the little girls. I even got Bree to fall asleep, I was so proud of myself! Below is a picture of Kyra and Adrie in our car on our way back to Kris and Kecia's after sacrament meeting.

These girls are so much fun, and so dang cute! Tadd was leading one of the songs with Adrie's leg near the end of sacrament and she blurts out, "What the heck!?" She's only three, and so advanced! :)

I had the pleasure of getting Bree to fall asleep on my shoulder during sacrament, and she created a nice little heating system for me. Unfortunately, the chapel was plenty warm. Haha!

Complete and Utter Vanity

One of my best friends, Jessica Cannon, is a very gifted cosmeotologist, make-up artist and photographer. Unfortunately, Jess moved to Vegas soon after finishing hair school, and I only see her a few times a year. When Jessica came into town a few months ago she asked if I would want to do a photoshoot with her! I was absolutely thrilled because she is such a gifted photographer, and I thought it would be so fun to be her little model for a day! I know it is extremely vain to post these pictures, but I felt I should showcase her talent...and dang! She made me look good!

Like I said, complete and utter vanity

Tag! I'm It!

Rules which must be posted on your blog if you are tagged: Link to your tagger and post these rules.

Share 7 facts about yourself. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names - link to them. Let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.

I was tagged by Mikel and here are my 7 facts about me:

1. I have a ridiculous fear of spiders. Well, who really likes spiders? Very few, insane people. But, I not only hate spiders, I'm convinced terrible things will happen to me if I kill a spider or come near one. Fear number one: if I am approaching a spider either on the wall or ceiling, it will most certainly jump off the wall onto my face. Fear number two: if I kill a spider it's family will come after me! These are real fears, and no one can talk me out of them.

2. Although some will say otherwise, this is how my time in the womb and my birth went down. Story #1: Partway through the nine months my mother carried me in her tummy, the doctors realized I was sideways, and I wasn't going to move, so they decided to try a pretty dangerous procedure! I would be the very first baby in Utah to have this procedure done...I'm very special. So, they cut my mother's tummy open, turned me to the correct position, sewed her back up, and I was born a few months later! Pretty neat huh? (See the comments section for the real story, as I'm sure my sister Megan, or my Mom, will gladly explain the actual details.)

3. Birth Story #2: When I was attempting to emerge from the birth canal (ew), I proceeded to get stuck. So stuck that the doctor chose to use forceps to pull me out. He stupidly placed the forcep clamps on each side of my head, and yanked me out. It is yet to be determined if the force of the pull, the placement of the clamps, or this amazing procedure I endured resulted in my crooked smile. Either way, the nerves on the left side of my face were deadened, which causes me to half-smile. Kinda messed up, huh?

4. I have never broken a bone, had stitches, or been stung by a bee. (And yes, I just knocked on wood three times.)

5. Somehow I have convinced Tadd how wonderful cuddling is. He was never a fan of it dating, through our engagement, or even in the first year or so of our marriage. But now, it's our favorite thing to do, and we look forward to it every night before going to bed.

6. I wouldn't really consider myself to have OCD, but I am very particular about certain things. When I fold my pants, the pockets must be face up; the front of my shirts I hang up should face into the left side of my closet, and be arranged like the colors of the rainbow; the toilet seat and lid must ALWAYS be down.

7. I drink approximately 80 ounces of Diet Coke a day.

I am now tagging the following people:
Megan Romo
Whitney Ingram
Mom
Kecia Cox
Jessica Salmon
Carrie Turpin
Katie Swenson

And the Winner is...

Halloween has long since passed, but I felt I should honor my absolute favorite Halloween costume. My cousin, Lindsey, has two adorable children, and she dressed one of them up as a UPS man! It was so clever, and the cutest thing I've seen! His little sis, Marin, pulled off a pretty cute skunk, as well!

Delivery!

One of Tadd's best pictures! He looks so hot!
Sleeping with his new blanket I made him for Christmas last year.

Holding roughly 30 sparklers. Smart.

Looking super hot, AGAIN.

Tadd made this table for Megan all by himself!

Anytime you ask Tadd to pose for a picture, this is what you will initially get.

I guess I'll add a fourth...I just bought these amazing SkullCandy earbuds, and EVERYONE needs to buy them! I bought them on sale at FYE for $10, when they are originally $30. Below are the wonders I currently have in my ears. I can't hear ANYTHING else but the music I'm playing, and they are tiny and virtually unfeelable (and yes, I just made that word up). PLUS they come with three sizes of ear bud thingers, which is a huge bonus for us small eared people!

2. Heating pads

Nu Skin's Halloween

For anybody that has ever worked at Nu Skin, known anybody who works at Nu Skin, or has casually walked past their building on Halloween, you know that Nu Skin makes a BIG deal out of Halloween. Not only do they hold contests of sorts for a number of things (namely Best Costume, Best Work Area, Best Group Costume, Best Pumpkin Carving, etc), they award money to the winners. So...naturally, our department gave it a go for the winning prize. May I just say that our dance to Soulja Boy's "Superman" was by far the best!

Here's the gang!

Auditioning at the preliminaries for the final contest!

Don't we look so gangster?

Boy's turn!

Here we are all military-like!

"Supaman dat ho!" Yes, that's what the song actually says.

Just in case you are wondering...we were ROBBED. Robbed of the winning title, and robbed of the prize money.

Fine...I Give

Going along with the month of November, and it's holiday of thanks, gratitude is being shoved down my throat...and I can't help but enjoy it. A few of my sisters, and my mother have started posting three things they are thankful for each day, and since I'm one heck of a copycat, I thought I'd join the crowd. I'll have to catch up, as today is the 3rd.

I am grateful for...

November 1st
1. ...my coarse hair
2. ...my ability to work
3. ...my mom and sister, Megan, to help me with my written grammar (although still not great, I'm just not a natural like them)

November 2nd

1. ...my silly and loving husband
2. ...my beautiful wedding ring
3. ...the T.V show "How It's Made"

Happy Halloween!

One thing I very much enjoy about Halloween is seeing all my neices and nephews dressed up their clever costumes! It's pretty crazy that since last Halloween there are three new grandkids added to the family!
L-R: Adrie the Nice Witch, Ellie the Cheerleader, Madi the Sports Fan, Bree the Caterpillar, Kyra as Dorothy, Mazie the Witch, Ava the Octopus, and Andrew the Pirate
Crew and Griffin in their little skeleton costumes. I just had to rotate the photo so it looks a little like the skeletons are standing!

All the grandkids! Sorry your head is cut off, Madi!

Papa (Tadd's Dad) grows huge pumpkins each year in his side yard garden, it's amazing! Kris and Papa got the job of carving out the pumpkins this year. Surprisingly, the walls of these pumpkins are really thick, and there is hardly any goo in them! (I think I hate the word "goo".)

Adrie standing in front of one of the pumpkins. Notice the electric saw on the ground...these sorts of things are what it takes to carve award winning pumpkins.

Family in Town

My mother underwent surgery, and needed an understudy to step in while she was under the weather, so my sister and her husband came to help out! This last Friday night Tadd and I headed down to Elk Ridge for a night o' family fun!

Tadd and I just bought a new car, a KIA Optima, and I LOVE it! This is a pic of us driving in our new car!

Megan and I took on the task of making amazing sugar cookies. Does anyone even know how hard it is to make a decent sugar cookie? Well, this is NOT something I knew before beginning this project. I got a supposed grrrrrrrreat sugar cookie recipe from a friend from high school, and just raved about it! Come to find out, a decent sugar cookie is hard to come by. Just ask my dad, he described our cookies as "throwing a handful of flour in your mouth, swishing it with a gulp of water, and trying to swallow".

I vote Megan starts her own cooking show. The way she poses for baking pictures is truly inspiring.

Believe it or not, this is only midway through our cooking. Megan not only doubled the dough recipe, but possibly trippled the frosting recipe.

"Never judge a book by it's cover"...It's all too true.

It's undecided whether Megan is gagging or terrified of my frusting encrusted knife.

Needless to say, we chucked the cookies, all 30 of them!
