Linsey & Matt's Wedding

Our friendlings Linsey Meyer and Matt Arnell were married yesterday, April 19 in Salt Lake. Tadd was unable to go because of work and a golf tournament, but luckily my mommy was able to accompany me (Linsey's high school mom). We had such a great time together!

Lins and Matty coming out of the temple!

Doesn't she look beautiful!?

I also ran into an old friend from high school, Tawny (Judkins) Gause, and it was so great seeing her! Yes, I realize I'm a repeat offender with my outfit. Get over it.

Pretty Lins with her sisters Kristin and Amanda

Joseph Smith Memorial Building for the luncheon

Although Lins and I sometimes go months without seeing each other, I still consider her one of my best friends; we can always pick back up right where we left off! We've had some hilarious times together, and I couldn't be more happy to see her marry Matt, who is equally as awesome as she is.

Case in point: rather than cut the cake like most normal people, they each bit a corner! And then things got violent...

The wedding guests held sparklers as the couple left for the honeymoon. I tried my hardest to light Linsey's hair on fire, but to no avail...

And then...the car. Complete with whip cream, syrup and vaseline.

Congratulations Arnells, we wish you the best!

AIDA!

My talented sissy, Lo, performed as Aida in the broadway musical, AIDA, and rocked the freakin' house. We older sisters knew she had talent, but not like this! Lo sang in eleven songs, many of them solos or duets, and let's just say...my jaw DROPPED.

La La played an African-American princess, Aida, of Nubia. Aida is captured and made to be a slave, but falls in love with royalty of Egypt, her country's archenemy.

In preparation for the play!

Front row Joe!

Matchy shoes! And...what does this have to do with broadway?

Excitement radiates from the Mal Pal

Mama, Markie, Meg, Jon and Hells

And now...for your viewing pleasure, some stills of the play...

Captured by the Egyptians

Sixchix rule: No kissing until you're 16, and then you get a trip to Disneyland with Mom. The deal has always been that when Lo makes it ALL the girls go, which we have planned for October.
*
Lo turns 16 July 30th, but was lucky enough to receive her first kiss (Mom approved) on stage during rehearsals for the play. She's said her experience with kissing thus far has been unimpressive, poor thing.

I'm feeling slightly queasy by this act in the play.

Luckily I didn't catch a picture of the two kissing, or there would be vomit on my keyboard at this moment.

This song was incredible! I'm so proud of my lil' sissy!

The two lovers have been discovered, immediately before his arranged marriage to the princess of Egypt. He (Radames) made his vows only to be put to death by the Pharaoh, with his love, Aida.

We felt like stars just being there with our celebrity sister!

The attending fam, minus Mom. Don't mind my gray hair, I've been under a lot of stress.

To Lo: I am so dang proud of you, and hope you sincerely know that. You are such a talented young lady, and definitely someone I look up to! Continue sharing your gifts, and you will be blessed. Love you much!

My Sissy Mal Pal

I apologize for the delay in this post, I'm a lousy sister

Sister #5, Mallory Robin, turned 20 yesterday! I had the pleasure of spending Friday and Saturday night with Mally just playing, and it was a treat, indeed! Here are a few things I LOVE about sister-five.

1. She is a very thoughtful person, and does her best not to speak ill of others.
2. She is my gym buddy, and makes me feel motivated!
3. Not a single member of the family has to wonder if Mal loves them. She expresses that all the time.
4. She loves her mother, and appreciates her! (See proof below)

5. She's BEAUTIFUL. I feel like a little gremlin standing next to her, she just radiates!
6. Mal is oh-so creative, and it shows in everything she does. She is true to herself, and issues creativity everywhere she goes!

7. The girl is HILARIOUS. No joke. She has got the best sense of humor.
8. She's the discount shopper queen, and has introduced me to sweet designer jeans at a lower price!
9. Even though she's getting all growed up, she can be a total goof and act immature with me.

10. She's the beauty expert, and has introduced me to a whole new world of make up!
11. The footage my mom caught of her as a wee one could have me rolling on the floor for hours. "She's an alien, Ma!"
12. It's a joy to eat out with her because she finds joy in food, like I do!

13. Although this may not be what mother wants to hear, but Mallory cusses funnier than everyone I've ever met. I think if one should swear, they should make it funny, and then it cancels out the sin.

Read THIS poem my mother wrote that perfectly describes one of my favorite sisters. Love you Mally!

Lil' Lo

I colored little Lo Lo's hair. Actually, this littlest sister of mine isn't so little anymore. She'll be 16 in just a few months!

Lo struck a deal with Ma awhile back that she wouldn't color her hair until she's 16, silly girl. Fortunately, she snagged the lead in Aida, and needed to portray an African-American, so darker she went! Isn't she a catch?

Mom's Birfday Dinner

The family gathered in Elk Ridge. We celebrated Sue's birthday. There was food. There was fun. We enjoyed each other's company. We dined on Jaley's pasta. We munched (hate that word) Mally's salad. We oooed and aahhhed over my rolls (I don't cook/bake/make). We love our mother.

Beautiful Mom and beautiful cake

I actually didn't make these rolls!

Being so happy.
We love you Mom, and feel honored to be able to celebrate with you!

Wedding Wear

Hells is tying the knot May 9th, and as favorite sister #1 (sarcasm), I am naturally a part of the wedding party. The other non-favorites and myself were ordered to find a gray dress and purple shoes. So, we five girls began our search. After weeks of searching, and discussing with the sisters, I found this little number pictured below.

The night I bought it online I called Haley and excitedly told her I'd found a dress! Conversation goes as follows... (Pre-story: Megan had found a dress as well but REFUSED to say where from. She didn't want the other sisters buying the same one. Seriously, refused. Like I'd buy the same one, we're 'posed to look different!)

Cat: I found a dress! And I love it!

Hells: Oh good, where from?

C: This random store online that I just found out about, Shabby Apple!

H: ....(pause)...Are you serious?

C: ....(pause)...yes, why?

H: Was it the only gray one on that site?

C: Yeah, it was so weird, it was listed with the black dresses, I feel so lucky!

H: That's the exact dress Megan bought.

C: (insta-depression)...but, but...but I look cute in it! I refuse to send it back!

H: Oh, I don't care if you wear the same dress, but Megan will be MAD!

So, Megan...all this time I've had my dress, I knew it was the same as yours, and jumped for joy when I found out you returned yours. Yipee skipee!

The search for purple shoes was much harder, and I blame it on the cank's (bless my dear grandmother). I was lucky enough to come across these little wonders listed below, and although the suede may not be entirely appropriate for a May wedding, they flatter my legs a bit better than others may. Naturally, I purchased them in deep purple.

All in all, it was a rather haneous task, but I feel as if I may have succeeded! However, only the photos from May 9th will tell...

Aaaawwwwwwnery

Yes, I know, I spelled that wrong. Today I'm ornery, and everything bugs me. Having a bad day.

The Source

I have an incredibly creative sissiter, MegRomo, whom you may all thank for my adorable, colorful, comical-at-times headers. At first, she was quite modest of her talents, and kept her special blog hidden, but she's now opened it up for public viewing! For a nominal fee she can create 4-6 headers for you, I suggest everyone takes a look!

Add Yourself a 3rd Column

Fine Meg-Co, here you go! Love ya!

Here is the site I used to help me add a third column. I tried many others beforehand by googling "third column to blogger", and this was the most helpful. Comment on this post if you have any questions!

Product of the Week

Three words for you: A-maz-ing. My sissy Mal-Pal turned me onto Bare Escentuals make-up, and I've been impressed with it since day one. My skin is very dry though, and I found that by the end of the day with all the powder on my skin (concealer, summer bisque, foundation, and warmth), it was still quite dry. So friend-Whitney introduced me to Skin Rev-er Upper, for prep! It's seriously awesome, don't tell me how it works because I don't care. It just does.

Late night practice + work all day + sweatiness = ugly raccoon eyes

Girls Night!

Friday night I headed up to Salt Lake with Lindey, two girls from dance (Tianne and Amy) and AliCat. We decided it was high time for a girls night, NO BOYS ALLOWED! Thanks to Amy's built-in-babysitting-daughter, Brit, no kids allowed either! We chose to eat at the Melting Pot because it's...duh, AMAZING.

Just my new shades...

Ali, me, Lindey, Tianne and Amy

Amy and Tianne. These girls are a blast! We dance together, and their friendship makes dance so much more enjoyable!

Everyone minus Amy (photog-taker).
Sparkling juice, not Wine.

I'm really glad we girls got together to play, and we'll definitely be doing it again! Especially since we were given free cheese and dessert from the manager, due to our bratty waiter.

NEWS! I TRULY saw Tony Parker outside of the Melting Pot. I doubted myself at first...why would he be walking around outside after the game? Answer: they lost! He needed time alone to meditate.

He looked quite a bit shorter than the other players he was with, but Tadd told me after that he's actually not much taller than him, so it WAS him! Of course I chased him down the street in Amy's car (she was inside tattling on our biotch waiter to the manager), and yelled "Tony!" out the car window.

I was completely star struck, and can't stop hitting myself for not taking a picture or getting his autograph!

Frustrated (apparently today is a day of emotions)

I really, really want a column of Page Elements on the left hand side of my page, but I can't figure it out! I've copied my sister's HTML, and it still won't let me drag Page Elements over there. After changing the HTML my fonts exploded into ginormous size, ugh! HELP!

***I FIGURED IT OUT!***

Depressed

It is a sad day indeed when I can twist all my hair up with just one single bobby pin.

Etsy Eye Candy

Etsy - Your place to buy & sell all things handmade
I have a new favorite website to browse. I'm not a crafty person, and don't wish to become one. I, however, do admire others that can pull off craft creations, and not the tacky crafts, anyone can do that. I've selected a few homemade items that I desperately want for one reason or another.
A little spin on the classic copper star many a housewife displays in their home. I think I'd like this in my kitchen.

Bice Designs
Hate this if you'd like, but I want it so bad! Imagine how cute this little piggy would be perched on my ladder shelf!

Kira Ferrer
I think I'd wear this everyday. It's so dainty and pretty, just like me. (Sarcasm issued)

These are my three fave today, and I'm sure I'll be posting more lata.

Mamasita!

Happy Birthday Mommy! Today is my mother's birthday. I love her so very much, but I don't think I tell her that enough. I really admire her for so many things, and hope I can be half the wife and mother she is one day.

My mom and dad are so cute, and I've mentioned in a previous post how fun it is to see them spend time together now that they have the time!

Growing up, my dad traveled A LOT. He worked really hard to support the family, which often meant business trips. I never, ever heard my mother complain, or ask my dad to stay home and help out with the kids. I can't even imagine how hard it was to take care of six girls without someone constantly there to assist. My mom was a very hands on parent, and I feel that we learned a lot from her!

I just think Sue-Sue looks so cute in this pic. Smiling so happily, while the rest of us are completely A.D.D.

I can't wait to have my own kids, and see them L-O-V-E their Gamma Sue. She and Jack are hilarious together, and they are so goofy!

All us girls are so lucky to have such a fun mom. When I was just a wee child, and into my teenage years, I wasn't very close with my mom. I now watch my younger sisters develop a very special bond with my mom, and feel bad that I missed out on those years. Luckily because of my mom's coolness, my surly teenage attitude hasn't destroyed our relationship, and we are very close now! I feel like I can go to her for anything, and she's always very supportive!

How many of you mothers could raise six girls and remain sane? Answer me that...

Another totally rad thing about my mom, she's let her gray hair grow it, and she rocks it like nobody I've ever seen!

I love you Mom, and hope you have a splendid b-day!
